Dodgers blow by Angels 9-3 --rematch Sat for Championship!

In a game that approached perfection, the Dodgers left the Angels beaten and battered, scoring at least one run in every inning, going up 7-0, then leaving with a 9-3 victory. So in two playoff games, the Dodgers outscored their opponents 20-5!

Nathan was a batter from perfect, as only one hitter, Jordan, was able to reach base, as he grounded one to the right of Nathan who slowed it just enough to allow Austin's throw from short to be just late--if at all! Anyway, Nathan retired the first 7 batters in order, striking out all but one. After Jordan singled, Nathan shut things down with 5 straight outs, two more by strikeout. Nathan left after four flawless innings, with the scoreboard reading Dodgers 7, Angels 0.

Of course there were hitting stars, as incredibly both Nathan and Austin had three doubles, Nathan scored three times, and Austin drove in four while scoring twice. Edgar joined the hit parade with three solid hits to the outfield. And I might mention that kid Tyler who hit the homerun into the lap of Jack's mom in right center, and later doubled to left field. Corey and Kelvin each earned two walks to keep innings' moving.

Tyler came on to pitch the final two innings, with some tough luck on a high pop-up behind first when everyone called for it but no one could catch it. Corey made a great catch on a pop fly destined for a hit in shallow right, and Fernando gunned out a runner at first for the final out!

Wire to wire, the Dodgers played like champions. Whatever happens Saturday, this is a special team, capable of great things, and it has been great fun seeing the progress they have made.

Hip, hip, hooray for the Dodgers!
